The Young Farmers & Ranchers (YF&R) Program is for young women and men between 18 and 35 years of age. It provides opportunities to develop leadership traits, public speaking skills and exposure to current issues in agriculture from state and national leaders.
We are proud to support NC Farm Bureau's Institute for Future Agriculture Leaders (IFAL). Our goal is to recommend at least one outstanding rising high school senior for the program every year. All Yadkin County rising high school seniors who have an interest in agriculture are encouraged to apply!
The Women’s Program is made up of dedicated women who love and live agriculture. The program provides women with leadership training, communication skills, and networking to strengthen their ability to encourage positive change in their communities and in the agricultural industry.
Yadkin County Farm Bureau has been recognizing those who have made a significant contribution to the overall county farming economy and those who strive in excellence at serving the membership of the organization since 2012. We are proud to recognize these accomplishments.
Our Scholarship Program was started in 2005, since then we have awarded over $64,000 to Yadkin County students who have excelled in academics and community involvement, all perusing a degree in agriculture related major at a variety of North Carolina's colleges and universities.
As farmers we know, if we will not tell the stories of our own farms, someone else will tell them for us, and that is not always a good thing. It is important that lawmakers full understand the roll NC farms play in a global economy and that farms are the backbones of the rural communities where they are located.
